Peter the Great’s flagship — 130 cm of individually planked basswood, maple, and cherry, rigged to full sail at 1:50 scale. The most ambitious build in our collection.

The Ingermanland 1715 is the largest and most complex kit we carry. At 1:50 scale, the completed model measures 130.4 cm L × 58.3 cm W × 124 cm H — a room-defining centrepiece that commands the space around it. The hull is built from three premium woods: basswood for the structural frames, maple for the deck planking, and cherry wood for the outer hull strakes. The result is a piece of visible warmth and tonal depth that no single-species kit can match.

Every gun port, carved stern gallery, and running rigging line is represented at this scale. This is a build measured in months, not weekends.

The Ingermanland was an 88-gun ship of the line launched in 1715 and the personal flagship of Tsar Peter the Great of Russia. She represented the pinnacle of Peter’s ambition to forge a modern European navy for Russia — a project he pursued with characteristic determination, travelling to the Netherlands and England in person to study shipbuilding techniques before applying them to the construction of the Russian Imperial Fleet.

Named after the region of Ingria on the eastern Baltic — territory seized from Sweden during the Great Northern War and the site of the newly founded city of Saint Petersburg — the Ingermanland was among the most powerful warships of her era and a symbol of Russia’s emergence as a Baltic naval power. Building this model is an act of historical reconstruction on a monumental scale.
