History & Story

The Sørlandet is a Norwegian full-rigged sailing ship built in 1927 in Kristiansand, Norway. She is one of the world’s oldest active sailing ships and has served as a training vessel for generations of Norwegian sailors, sailing the Atlantic and beyond as an ambassador of Norwegian maritime heritage.

Her graceful three-masted silhouette and gleaming white hull have made her a beloved symbol of Scandinavian seafaring tradition — still sailing today, nearly a century after her launch.
