Clean lines, tall sails, open water — the Shamrock is the perfect first build for anyone who has ever been drawn to the sea.

This 1:24 scale kit has been redesigned for a cleaner, more enjoyable build experience. It features a laser-cut basswood hull, fabric sails, and a rope rigging system — simple enough for a first-time modeller, yet detailed enough to produce a finished piece that genuinely captures the grace of a classic gaff-rigged sloop. At 52 cm finished length, it makes an elegant display on any desk or shelf.

🔧 This is a model kit — assembly, painting, and rigging required. Tools, adhesives, and paints are not included and must be sourced separately.

⚠️ Skill level: Beginner. Results will vary based on skill, tools, and finishing choices. Please review the instruction manual before beginning assembly.

History & Story

Shamrock is one of the most celebrated names in the history of competitive sailing. The series of Shamrock yachts — built between 1899 and 1930 for Irish tea merchant Sir Thomas Lipton — became synonymous with the golden age of America’s Cup racing. Sleek, fast, and driven by enormous clouds of canvas, they embodied the sporting ambition and aesthetic elegance of the Edwardian era.

The gaff-rigged sloop, of which the Shamrock is a classic example, dominated recreational and competitive sailing from the late 18th century through the early 20th century. Its graceful profile — with a long boom, tall gaff, and generous overlapping headsail — remains one of the most beautiful silhouettes ever put to water.
