This 1:85 scale kit builds the San Francisco to a finished size of 66 cm L × 24 cm W × 54 cm H. A three-deck Spanish galleon of the early 17th century, she represents the dominant warship type of her era — the vessel that controlled the trade routes of the Atlantic and Pacific for over 150 years. The kit includes individually planked hull strakes, multiple fabric sails, a full rope rigging system, carved stern gallery details, painted gun ports, and all deck fittings and flags. At this scale, the completed model is a substantial display piece.

The galleon was the dominant warship and cargo vessel of the Spanish Empire from the mid-16th to the late 17th century. Three-masted, three-decked, and armed with rows of bronze cannon, the galleon was the instrument of Spain’s maritime supremacy during the age of exploration — the vessel type that carried silver from the Americas, connected Manila to Acapulco on the famous Manila Galleon route, and fought the great fleet engagements of the period.

The San Francisco, dating to 1607, represents this type at its mature development — a vessel of three full gun decks, high stern castle, elaborately carved stern gallery, and a rig of square sails on fore and main masts with a lateen-rigged mizzen. She is one of the great subjects of the wooden ship modelling tradition.
