A 1:48 scale wooden model kit — the traditional Ottoman trading vessel that once sailed the Sea of Marmara, built by your own hands.

This 1:48 scale kit faithfully reproduces the Marmara Trade Boat in basswood, cherry wood, and sapele: a planked hull shaped by hand, fabric sails cut and sewn to scale, and a full rope rigging system. At 43.2 cm finished length, this is a rewarding build that delivers a display piece with genuine historical character.

⚠️ This is a model kit requiring assembly — not a finished model. Tools required: hobby knife, tweezers, wood glue, clamps, sandpaper, rigging tools (not included).

The Marmara Trade Boat is a traditional Ottoman sailing vessel that plied the Sea of Marmara — the inland sea connecting the Bosphorus and the Dardanelles — for centuries. These nimble, lateen-rigged craft were the workhorses of Ottoman coastal trade, carrying goods between Istanbul, the Marmara islands, and the Anatolian coast.

Characterized by their distinctive hull form with ornate carved decorations and a single large lateen sail, these vessels represent a unique chapter in Mediterranean maritime history — a fusion of Byzantine, Ottoman, and broader Mediterranean shipbuilding traditions.

Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placement. After 24 hours, cancellations are no longer accepted as production may have begun.
