History & Story

The Krusenstern — named after the pioneering Russian admiral Adam Johann von Krusenstern — is a four-masted barque launched in 1926 that remains one of the largest and most beautiful sailing ships still in active service. With its iconic black-and-white hull, towering masts, and full complement of square sails, it is a vessel that commands attention wherever it sails.

Originally built in Bremen as the Padua and transferred to the Soviet Union after World War II, she continues to train Russian naval cadets today — a living monument to the age of sail.
