Build the Halcon, a Spanish-registered Baltimore schooner whose sleek hull and two-masted sailing rig capture the character of a fast sailing vessel.

This 1:48 scale kit builds the Halcon to a finished size of 75 cm L × 25 cm W × 55 cm H (29.5 in × 9.8 in × 21.7 in), with a hull length of 50 cm (19.7 in) and hull width of 13 cm (5.1 in). Laser-cut basswood structural parts and walnut hull strips form the foundation of a detailed build, complemented by timber and basic rigging line. Illustrated instructions, reference plans, and dedicated frame-alignment features help guide hull assembly, while the two-masted rig creates an engaging project in sailboat modelling. Some components are prefabricated; others require cutting, shaping, and fitting by hand.

🔧 This is a model kit — assembly, planking, and rigging required. Prepare modelling tools, adhesives, and wood finishes separately.

⚠️ Skill level: Expert. Recommended for experienced modellers only. Finished results depend on skill, tools, and finishing choices. Please review the instructions before beginning assembly.

HISTORY & STORY

Halcon, meaning falcon in Spanish, is presented as a Spanish-registered Baltimore schooner. The type is distinguished by a slender hull and a generous sailing rig designed for speed.

This wooden kit brings that fast-sailing character into a display model, with two masts, fine rigging, and a long hull that rewards careful planking and finishing.
