A 1:72 scale wooden model kit — Canada’s undefeated racing schooner, built by your own hands.

This 1:72 scale kit reproduces her distinctive two-masted gaff schooner profile in full-rib laser-cut basswood and AA-grade red birch plywood: a black-painted upper hull over a natural wood lower body, red-painted masts and booms, and a complete rope rigging system. At 73.2 cm finished length, this is a demanding build that rewards the experienced modeller with one of the most recognisable silhouettes in maritime history.

⚠️ This is a model kit requiring assembly — not a finished model. Tools required: hobby knife, tweezers, wood glue, clamps, sandpaper (not included).

History & Story

The Bluenose launched in Lunenburg, Nova Scotia in 1921 and went undefeated in the International Fishermen’s Trophy for seventeen years — a record that made her a national symbol, commemorated on the Canadian dime to this day.

Built as a working fishing schooner and racing vessel in one, the Bluenose was the fastest and most celebrated ship of the North Atlantic fishing fleet — a symbol of Canadian maritime pride that has never been surpassed.

Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placement. After 24 hours, cancellations are no longer accepted as production may have begun.

Returns: We do not accept returns for change of mind. If your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at service@oceanrelicstudio.com with photos of the item and packaging — we will arrange a suitable resolution.
