HISTORY & STORY

The Sedov is one of the largest sailing ships ever built — a four-masted barque launched in 1921 in Kiel, Germany, and later transferred to the Soviet Union as war reparations. She has sailed continuously ever since, training generations of Russian naval cadets across the world’s oceans.

At over 117 metres in length, she remains one of the last great square-rigged tall ships still in active service — a monument to the age of sail and Russian maritime endurance.
