This 1:36 scale kit reproduces the 42ft Gunboat in full-frame cherry wood construction: every rib and plank shaped by hand, brass cannons and deck fittings cast in metal, and a complete rope rigging system. At 36 cm finished length, this is a precise and satisfying build that showcases the craftsmanship of naval architecture at its most functional.

History & Story

The 42ft Gunboat was a purpose-built ship's boat designed to be carried aboard larger warships and deployed for close-quarters combat, harbor defense, and amphibious operations. Armed with a single heavy cannon mounted on a pivot, these nimble craft could deliver devastating firepower in shallow waters where larger vessels could not follow.

Used extensively by the Royal Navy and other European naval powers during the Age of Sail, gunboats played a critical role in coastal raids, river warfare, and the boarding of enemy vessels. Their full-frame construction made them exceptionally strong for their size — a testament to the shipwright’s art.

What is your return and damage policy?

Orders can be cancelled within 24 hours of placement. After 24 hours, cancellations are no longer accepted as production may have begun.

Returns: We do not accept returns for change of mind. If your order arrives damaged or defective, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery at service@oceanrelicstudio.com with photos of the item and packaging — we will arrange a suitable resolution.

EU customers have the right to cancel within 14 days of delivery under EU consumer law.
